Jennifer E. Elgie was born in Greenbrae, California, in 1977. She attended University of California at Santa Barbara and graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology in 1999. She began her professional career in sales and marketing, primarily doing medical marketing for surgery centers in the Bay Area. She began law school in 2004, at Golden Gate University School of law, attending night classes while she continued to work full time doing marketing for Presidio Surgery Center in San Francisco. Ms. Elgie graduated from law school in December 2007, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in June 2008. She started working at Rogaski, Preovolos, Weber and Patterson, LLP in January 2009, where she practices Medical Malpractice Defense, Insurance and Defense Litigation, and General Litigation.

Ms. Elgie is a member of the Sangster Inn of Court, a professional organization for attorneys in Marin, Napa, and Sonoma Counties for individuals who are dedicated to the ethical practice of law. She is also currently serving as a board member for Family Service Agency of Marin, a nonprofit organization which strives to provide a lifeline to Marin families by making mental health services available and affordable.
