General Civil Practice

Rogaski, Preovolos, Weber and Patterson, LLP is an AV-rated firm, dedicated to providing high quality legal services. We provide high quality, low cost service by associating conscientious, experienced attorneys, paralegals and administrative assistants. These individuals have a diverse range of backgrounds, and are allied to provide quality legal services.

We are also dedicated to achieving timely, favorable results. "A legal problem is not fine wine; it does not get better with age." We recognize that many times disputes can be quickly, efficiently and economically resolved through negotiation, or through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), such as Mediation or Arbitration, and we have received training to act as mediators and arbitrators through the Pepperdine School of Law's Strauss Institute. That training gives us unique insight into the ADR process, and the skills necessary to provide favorable results to our clients.

If a matter requires Litigation, our attorneys have well in excess of 125 combined years of litigation experience. By taking a proactive approach to litigation, we are able to resolve a majority of cases prior to incurring the expense and risk of trial, but should your case require it, we have tried hundreds of cases to verdict or decision, with excellent results.

Our General Civil Practice includes:

Business Services. We offer a broad range of services to all sizes and types of businesses, whether they be sole proprietorships, partnerships or corporations. Whether your needs relate to organizational formation, contract negotiation and drafting, corporate formality compliance, expansion or winding down and dissolution, we're here to help meet your needs. We also are available to assist you in the purchase or sale of an existing business, whether it be a professional practice or a microbrewery.

Real Estate. Our practice includes the representation of Landlords in Unlawful Detainer (Eviction) actions. We offer a wide range of services which include a diverse range of expertise, ranging from complex matters such as negotiation and drafting of lease agreements, remediation of soil contamination, Purchase and Sale agreements, Breach of Contract, Fraud, or Subdivision Development, through lot line and easement disputes.

Estate Planning and Probate. We work with individuals and families looking to plan for the distribution of their Estate, whether by way of a Will or a Trust, or to settle an Estate through the Probate court or through Trust Administration. We also are experienced in establishing Conservatorships to protect the assets of a loved one who is no longer able to manage their own affairs.

Personal Injury. We represent individuals who have been injured by the negligent acts of others, whether in automobile or motorcycle accidents, by dangerous or defective products, or from a dangerous condition of property. Our practice is focused primarily on serious and catastrophic injury, as well as accidental or wrongful death.

Mediation Services. With three of our partners certified as civil mediators, we offer mediation services to lawyers and their clients, helping them avoid the time and expense of litigation. We also act as arbitrators for those seeking another form of alternative dispute resolution.

Employment Law. We primarily advise Private and Public Employers in all matters relating to Unions, including collective bargaining, as well as issues relating to employee termination and discipline. Our representation includes practice in before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Public Employee Relations Board.

Criminal Defense. We represent clients in Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases in almost all circumstances. The remainder of our Criminal practice is determined on a case-by-case basis. We are primarily interested in cases which present Constitutional issues, such as warrantless search and subsequent prosecution, or matters in which both counsel and client share a strong and abiding determination that the particular criminal prosecution is unjust and unwarranted.
